Watching him with half-lidded eyes, she let herself fully absorb the sensations he was giving her. His hands flexed on her inner thighs, moving closer to her spread pussy lips. She tilted her head back in pleasure as his fingers spread her, his thumb moving to her clit and running a slow circle around the hard bud.

“You are so beautiful. The most unimaginable creature I have ever seen.” He panted, his words a gruff rumble. “I want you, Helina. I want you like I have never wanted anything in my life. I want to mate you, claim you, and make you mine.”

Her breathing became quicker, his words causing something inside of her to swell, to feel as if their two souls were becoming one and the same. She wanted the same things, wanted to be only his. She couldn’t deny what her heart wanted. “I want that too, Gaijryc.”

He gazed down at her, his rhythm increasing. His mouth was slightly open, his fangs growing longer and sharper right in front of her eyes. His body covered hers, his face inches from her. His eyes seemed to glow, the emerald green color piercing in intensity. A wave of pleasure hit Helina and she arched her back. She gripped his biceps, digging her nails into his flesh as the pleasure intensified.

Screaming in pleasure, she felt pain at her neck. She knew what he was doing, encouraged him to do it as she tilted her head to the side and speared her fingers through his hair. The feeling of his fangs sliding into her skin had the pleasure heating further. She felt her warm blood drip down her neck and pool at her collarbone. Another orgasm went through her as he started to suck at her neck. He grunted against her neck as his lips continued to move against her in an almost sexual way. Dizzy with pleasure, she closed her eyes and absorbed everything.

His whole body tensed up above her as his orgasm tore through him. The feeling of his semen inside of her was like an aphrodisiac, exciting her even more and sending smaller orgasms through her body. He rolled onto his back and took her with him. Helina didn’t fight it when she felt herself start to drift to sleep, Gaijryc still inside of her, his fangs still piercing her neck.

  Aftermath

Helina woke to the feel of Gaijryc running his fingers up and down her spine. Chills popped up along her skin and she opened her eyes. Her skin felt so sensitive that even the sheets running along her body made her moan. They stared at each other as he made small circles along her hip and upper thigh. Her breasts touched his bare, hairless chest, making her nipples stand out in hard little points.

  “I want to keep you.”

She smiled and chuckled at his statement, his brows knitting together as he shook his head.

“That didn’t come out the way I meant.”

“I know what you mean. I feel the same.”

  “Truly?”

Helina smiled and ran her finger between his eyes, smoothing away the worry crease that had made an appearance. Nodding, she lifted herself up on her elbow to kiss him. It was a light kiss, more a declaration than anything else. She lay back down and stared into his eyes. Their tongues mingled together, sweeping against one another in an intimate dance. His hand moved to her knee, where he cupped the back of it and lifted it up. He draped it over his hip, causing her vagina to rub against his already stiff shaft. He moved his hips in a sexual roll, his cock sliding through her already wet cleft and touching her clit.

Their mouths were still fused together when he slid into her. His hand gripped her waist as he worked himself in until his pubic bone touched hers. He broke the kiss and let out a deep groan against her forehead. Her inner muscles clenched around his shaft uncontrollably. She wanted him to move within her, to cause friction and bring her toward another mind blowing orgasm.

“Please,” she pleaded. He gripped her hips and rolled her onto him. Her hands landed on his chest to balance herself and she moaned at the deep penetration the position caused.

  “You have control, Helina.”

Staring down at him, she breathed out at what he was implying. This big, strong vampire was giving her the control over his body.

“I don’t know what to do.”

“You are so perfect, Helina. There isn’t anything that you could do wrong.”

She knew she was inexperienced and she didn’t want to disappoint him. Helena braced her hands firmly on his chest and lifted herself up. They both moaned at the same time as she brought herself back down on him. She did this over and over again, slowly going up and then slowly bringing herself back down. His hands gripped her hips tightly as she picked up a faster speed.

Gaijryc lay on his back and stared up at Helina. His eyes went to her long, flowing black hair as it brushed along her nipples, moving against her skin as she rode him. Her eyes were closed and her head was to the side. He didn’t deny the thrill of excitement that coursed through him at the sight of his mark on her neck. The twin puncture wounds were prominent and would let all DarkShine males know who she belonged to.

Her neck was long and slender, her shoulders slim and petite. Her breasts were the perfect size for his hands, the rose-colored nipples hard and ready for his mouth. His eyes traveled over her slender ribcage and down her flat stomach until he was staring at the small thatch of silky black hair that covered her mound. He stared at their conjoined sexes as she moved up and down on him. He could see her inner lips stretched around his cock as she moved in a fast rhythm. She was so tight and hot that he was having a hard time holding his climax off.

Her body glistened with sweat and her pert breasts bounced up and down as she started to lose control. He moved his hands to her breasts and tweaked the small nipples until she was begging him to go harder. He gripped her hips and flipped her on her back as he pounded into her willing flesh until both of them were screaming in orgasm. He could feel her little nails scoring his back and groaned at the feel of her marking him. His semen shot out and coated her insides as her pussy clenched around him. He could feel her hot juices explode from her, coating his cock and mixing with his own come.

He collapsed on top of her, bracing himself to the side so he didn’t crush her much smaller body. His penis slid easily out of her, both of them moaning from the loss as he wrapped his arms around her and brought her close to him. Her back rested against his chest, her bottom against his pelvis, his cock still hard and slipping easily between her ass cheeks. She was hot and smooth, and he couldn’t help but thrust his hips against her. Her breathing was becoming slow and regular, and he held her close, staying awake as he relished the idea of protecting her.

Ryce walked around his soldiers as each one of them practiced their fighting moves. He made sure they worked until blood coated them and cuts marred their bodies. “Emmoch, Gradeall, take the center.” Gradeall was a master archer, the best in the DarkShine league, while Emmoch was a master with daggers.

He watched as Gradeall took center stage, Emmoch following slowly behind him. Emmoch was the complete opposite of Gradeall in both appearance and skill. Emmoch’s pale white hair hung to his shoulders, his black eyes a sharp contrast to the light color. They were both the same in height and mass, both of their six-foot-eight-inch heights and two hundred and eighty pound build making them seem like giants. Ryce stood back and watched as the two started to circle each other. He was anxious to see who would come out on top, but he had a feeling that Emmoch would, because of his skill with his hands. Although Gradeall was skilled as well and would make an admirable opponent.

They both lunged at each other, their hands swiping out at the same time, and their fists meeting flesh at nearly the same time. Emmoch dodged a punch from Gradeall, ducking and swiping his leg out, which caused Gradeall to fall to his knees. In the next instance Gradeall was on his feet and slamming his hand into Emmoch’s chest, throwing him across the room and into the concrete wall. The force was so hard that pieces of the stone came down from the wall and sliced Emmoch’s forehead. He hissed an oath and bounded up, backhanded Gradeall and sent him flying across the other side of the room.

League soldiers moved out of the way, their grunts and chuckles fe
eding fuel to the fire of the two fighting males. The sparring continued for another hour before Gradeall jumped on Emmoch, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head on the ground. Emmoch was dazed momentarily, but just as he started to regain his strength, Gradeall was throwing punches in his face faster than Ryce had ever seen. Gradeall jumped off Emmoch, spitting blood from his own mouth and holding his hand out to the now black and blue Emmoch. Even though Emmoch was bloody and bruised, he would be healed and at his full strength by tomorrow.

They turned toward Ryce, awaiting their next order. Ryce pushed off the wall and walked to the center of the room. He looked at all the DarkShine males and then turned and looked at Gradeall and Emmoch. He hadn’t told his soldiers yet, but he was taking on a second in command, a DarkShine male to ultimately take over his position. He looked at Gradeall, the male that had proven himself in the hand-to-hand combat, the last test he had given the DarkShine league. He would teach Gradeall all he knew; teach him to be the future leader to the DarkShine league, and the protector of not only his race, but of the royal family as well. Of course that little detail about him resigning would have to come at a later date when no one would be able to stop him from the decision.

Helina woke slowly, stretching her arms above her head as she looked around. The warm sun shone through the window and she wasn’t surprised that she had slept like the dead. Her body was deliciously sore, reminding her of exactly what she had done the night before. She wasn’t surprised to see that Gaijryc was already awake and watching her intently. Smiling, she leaned in for a kiss. She pulled back and was about to get up and make something to eat when his big arms wrapped around her and pulled her on top of him. Giggling, she rested her head over his heart. The slow rhythmic pounding went through her like a lullaby. “Gaijryc?”

“Hmmm?” His hands ran up and down her back, tickling her in a slow, steady motion.

“Tell me about your kind and why you came here.”

He tensed beneath her and she lifted her head to look at him. He stared at her for a second before looking out the window with his brows knit. His hand went behind her head and pushed it gently back down to his chest, right over his heart.

  “You want to know everything?”

  “Yes.”

“We come from a place that is not known by any other kind. We are an age-old species that is a predator amongst all.”

“What about the myths about vampires? Is any of it true? I mean, I thought vampires couldn’t be in the sun?”

“Well, a lot of those are exactly what you said, just myths. Humans have made the myths in order to make them feel as if they can have some kind of control over us. In truth, many of those things about vampires are false. It is true we have fangs and must drink blood to survive. Our strength is insurmountable, and our senses are keener than any other creature on the planet. We can hear better, see farther, and run faster than any other species on this planet.”

His hand slowly ran up and down her nude back, calming her as he spoke of what he truly was. “Sunlight can’t kill us, as you can already attest to. Garlic, holy water and stakes through the heart can’t harm us either.”

  “So you can never die?”

“We are immortal, but only to an extent. Nothing aside from cutting off my head, burning my body, and burying the ashes in separate locations can kill me.”

“Has anybody ever tried to kill you before?”

“I have been around for thousands of years. I have made many enemies.”

“Why did your kind decide to rise now? Is it the world or just the United States?” He was quiet for a suspended moment, his gaze trained on the window, his face flat of any emotion.

“The world.” The words were spoken low and dark. “It wasn’t my decision. It had been tried once before, but the result had been less then pleasant. I was actually against the whole idea, but there was nothing I could do to stop it. I thought it cruel to take over what was not ours, to kill and capture a species that had flourished in this world. My mother and father are the king and queen of the DarkShine, and they had the whole species in agreement that our kind should rule, not live in the shadows. They said they were sick of hiding from a weaker species, of being in the proverbial dark and being the second class in this world. So they perfected their technique, tweaked what needed tweaked and came together to take what they wanted.”

Shock resonated through her. “What happened to all of the humans?” Helina already had an idea of what had happened, had seen what they had done to her sister, but she wanted Gaijryc to tell her himself. It put her at ease to know that the man—the vampire that she had grown to care about had been against what his kind had done.

His hand snaked around to her front and he pulled her closer, cradling her head against his chest. “There are many of us, but not nearly as much as there are humans. We trained, learned the weaknesses of humans and what there faults were. We watched the wars that they participated in, watched as they slaughtered their own for power. Soon we had all the information that was needed to overcome the humans.”

“What about my government? Surely they had weapons that could stop you?”

“Without a doubt, but like I said, unless they kill us in a specific manner, my kind is unstoppable. It was actually quite easily to take control, but make no mistake; I had nothing to do with it and would have stopped it if I could have.” He kissed the top of her head and she closed her eyes.

“I’m not proud to say what I’m about to tell you, but you deserve to know. My kind has killed many humans, but the majority are kept as slaves. The majority have been kept as workers within high-ranking family homes, or as their pets.”

Fear and disgust bombarded her at what he said. “What do you mean, pets?”

“We can survive off of our own kind’s blood, but you see, humans taste so much better. They’re like an aphrodisiac, a drug to our senses, an intoxicating liquor that drives us mad. Some of the DarkShine like to keep pets, like to keep humans as their blood lovers.”

She was disgusted by what Gaijryc told her. How could his kind be so cruel as to keep pets—human beings for their food and their sex slaves?

“They like it, though, humans I mean. They’re willing in every sense.”

She looked at Gaijryc with wide eyes.

  “How do you know that?”

“Years ago when I was just a fledgling, I saw that Ryce, the first ranking lord of the DarkShine League, had a human female for a pet. I was very young and didn’t fully understand the concept. I saw her as a caged animal, but in all actuality she was a treasured jewel. I had snuck into his room while he was away on a mission, curious as to what the fascination was with the weaker species. I expected her to be chained, to have ragged clothes on and be dirty, but she had been sleeping in his bed, wrapped in his silk sheets with rubies and diamonds on her neck. She was beautiful, with long dark hair and these striking hazel eyes that seemed to look into your very soul.”

He stared at her as he spoke, his fingers running along her cheekbone and over her lips. “She looked kind of like you actually, although you are far more beautiful.” He smiled as he ran his fingers along her face. “I didn’t even have to tell her I was there to help her escape. She looked at me and smiled and told me she didn’t need my help. She told me she loved Ryce and he loved her, that he treated her like she was a rare treasure that needed worshiped. I hadn’t even spoken one word and she had seemed to know why I was there, had told me everything I needed to know. I left her room that night with a clearer picture, that what I had thought of as a caged animal was actually the love of Ryce’s life.”

Helina looked into his eyes as he cupped the side of her face and brought his mouth to hers. “So they aren’t caged animals?”

“Not for Ryce. Although I can’t speak for all of my kind. There are some of my kind that use humans as slaves.”

“So what happened to the woman?”

Gaijryc’s face took on a look of grief as soon as she asked
the question. “She died.”

“What happened?” Even though Ryce had killed her sister, there was a compassionate part of her that felt sorrow for his loss. There was a part of her that hated him, wanted him to suffer as she was now suffering.

“Everyone found out that Ryce’s human pet had died. They all knew she had been his favorite, but they didn’t truly know how deep it actually ran. I found him one night crying in the garden in my parents’ courtyard. I remember it like it was just yesterday, Ryce on his knees at the foot of her grave, tears streaking down his face. He was a strong and powerful warrior, but to see him so broken, so devastated changed something inside of me. He wanted her buried close to him so that he could see her every day. My parents agreed, not because he loved her, but because he was the trusted high ranking lord of the DarkShine league.”

Helina rested her head on his chest, her heart breaking as she listened to the story. “He had been on the cold ground, his hands and knees covered in dirt and his face wet with his own tears. Even though he knew I was there, his tears didn’t stop. He told me she died pregnant with his child. You see, it is forbidden to mate a human, to conceive a child with what our kind sees as the weaker species.”

Hot tears ran down her cheeks and she tried to stop the flow by closing her eyes.

  “Why are you crying?”

Opening her eyes, she lifted head just as Gaijryc’s thumb ran over her cheek and wiped away her tears. “It’s just a sad story, one that I can relate to. I hate him, Gargryck, hate him for what he took from me, but I am still a human and feel compassion for people.” They stared at each other, concern etched into his face. “You make the pain bearable. I don’t know how or why, but your presence helps me.”
